Priorities 2008-09
At its April 17th, 2008 meeting, TSS Steering Committee members identified the following priorities for 2008/09:
- Deepen our understanding of how to best grow True Sport
- Build commitment and engagement in True Sport
- Implement relevant aspects of the True Sport Activation and Integration Plan, including the Steering Committee’s role as a “hub” partner, in collaboration with the CCES and TSF
- Undertake proactive, directed and sustained dialogue with F/P/T governments about priorities, issues of concern, opportunities and suggested actions
- Continue to work with early leaders and the wider sport community to further develop and implement the integrated True Sport Club Excellence model
- Continue to engage NSOs in implementing values–based sport through an integrated risk management approach
- Continue to capitalize on strategic opportunities related to multi-sport games (e.g. Canada Games, P/T Games, CIS and School N/P/T Championships, etc.) to promote True Sport and foster True Sport declarations and the practice of True Sport
- Continue to introduce and promote True Sport through meetings, symposia, workshops and conferences within the sport community
- Continue to monitor key initiatives in True Sport and identify and facilitate opportunities for linkages and synergies amongst Steering Committee members, as well as the wider sport community.
- Manage and support the True Sport Strategy
- Continue to manage the True Sport Strategy and support the Steering Committee
- Lead the evaluation of the True Sport Strategy to determine its ongoing relevance, success to date and alternatives, and share the findings with key partners
- Develop a longer-term plan and priorities for the True Sport Strategy in consultation with key partners
